SlowMotion Pain

Just a quick question on something I've been observing with the VT3-- Say I take a clip, drop it's playback speed to 70%, or perhaps up a speed of 60 back to 100%... it seems that the footage position isn't the same once I perform the speed change. I have to scrub through the clip to find the original segment I wanted to alter. Ideally I want to click on a clip, change the speed to 70% (or whatever speed) and the same footage I see is then 'stretched' to fit that playback speed. Any thoughts on this? Am I missing something here?
